"L'accueil très chaleureux des propriétaires des lieux, un couple d'anglais fort sympathiques. Le grand calme : il s'agit d'une ancienne ferme rénovée, située en pleine campagne, à l'extrémité d'une longue impasse. L'environnement : un bocage vallonné, très arboré, avec des chemins creux, des champs de dimensions modestes entourés de hauts talus en terre, sur lesquels pousse une végétation variée : magnifique et reposant. Le petit-déjeuner offert, qui est généreux."

"Ce n'est pas tout à fait une location indépendante, mais plutôt un hébergement chez l'habitant ( au contact cela dit très agréable ). L'endroit n'est pas très facile à trouver - mais on y arrive ! Il s'agit en fait de l'Impasse de la Haye, située bien en dehors du bourg de Couvains ( sur la gauche, sur la petite route qui mène de Couvains à Cerisy )."

"Mark and Kim are very warm and welcoming hosts, making sure you have everything you need and feel at home in their nicely renovated farm house. On the other hand, they allow you to have your privacy in a separate section on the left hand side of the upper floor of the cottage with two bed rooms and a bath room with a slip-proof shower. In the morning, Mark freshly prepares a very nice continental breakfast, welcoming you down to the kitchen with the smell of freshly baked bread. The cottage is centrally located for visiting on the one side Mont Saint Michel and on the other side Bayeux and the D-day beach sites. The rural area is very quiet and surrounded by other farm houses."

The roads in the last kilometers up to the cottage are narrow and winding. On the up side, traffic is very low, so we never had to back down for a car coming from the opposite direction."

Sorted an evening meal each night (we are with them which is traditionally French). Food excellent and all good was brought in fresh each day (Mark is a chief). Will be back."

"We arrived on our motorcycle to a very warm welcome from Mark and Kim, our room was lovely with a nice comfortable bed. The bathroom is very modern and spacious, we had a excellent breakfast each morning with fresh croissants and baguettes baked by Mark, with jams, cheeses, sliced meats, yogurt's, fruit juices, tea and coffee. We opted to have our evening meals there for a very reasonable charge mark is an excellent Chef an produced a lovely evening meal each night. We arrived back one night soaking wet Kim took our motorcycle kit Mark lit a fire and they dried it all out for us. They are a very lovely couple and nothing is to much trouble for them. "We were very enthusiastic and warmly received by Mark & ​​Kim. We lacked nothing for 5 days. The rooms were neat and super clean (not even a speck of dust under the bed!), with good mattresses. Clean and spacious bathroom. The breakfast was extensive and freshly prepared. Did you have a personal wish, for example eggs for breakfast? No problem, it was simply arranged. In the evening there was the option to join us for dinner for €15.00 p.p. In the morning Mark indicated what he would cook that evening. And it must be said: the meals were simple but delicious! Location of the chambre d'hôte is very quiet in a rural area. Exactly what we were looking for. All you hear are the cows. It is a perfect base for visits to the D-day beaches and, for example, Le Mont Saint-Michel."

Marianne Cottage is great value for money and we would all recommend a stay there. Our hosts could not do enough to make our stay a most pleasant one. A plus was our motorbikes were garaged."

"Kim und Mark haben sich während unseres zweitägigen Aufenthalts als großartige Gastgeber erwiesen. Sie waren überaus freundlich, zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit, offen für gute Gespräche (bei dem ein oder anderen Gläschen Rotwein) und gaben uns Tipps für Veranstaltungen in der Nähe. Wir haben uns bei ihnen (in ihrem gemütlich eingerichteten Landhaus) sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir durften bei unserer Ankunft sogar früher einchecken, wodurch wir unser Gepäck loswerden konnten und mehr vom restlichen Tag hatten. Darüber hinaus durften wir unsere Motorroller in der Garage unterstellen, wo sie sicher untergebracht waren. Ein keineswegs selbstverständlicher Service war auch, dass auf unserem Zimmer eine große Flasche Wasser für uns bereitstand. Das Frühstück war wirklich lecker. Absolutes Highlight war dabei der von Mark gezauberte Cappuccino - mit Abstand der beste, den wir auf unserer knapp dreiwöchigen "Tour de France" genießen durften."
